Ancestral Living for Families
Caring for the healthy gut microbes in our family members' bodies is one of the biggest gifts we can give to them. Sounds weird, right?! Since the trillions of microbes that live in our body play a huge role in how we feel, think, and act, it’s crucial that we learn about them and how we can properly care for them.
Following ancestral living principles is a time-tested way to care for our microbes so that they can help manage our hormones, our neurotransmitter, circadian rhythm, immune system, and much more.
The majority of children in well-developed nations actually have poor gut health which leads to inflammation as they age. Kids deserve to know how to have a “healthy gut”. It’s our responsibility to teach them! In this course, your child will learn:
All About Good and Bad Microbes
Steps to a Healthy Gut
Foods that Keep the Gut Microbes Healthy
Tools to Strengthen the Gut Microbiome
Foods Highest in Prebiotics and Probiotics
Types of Plant Anti-Nutrients
How Ancestral Cultures Lived that Benefitted their Gut Microbiomes
Healthier vs. Unhealthy Sweeteners
How to Make Milk and Water Kefir
How to Make Liquid Whey
How to Make Fermented Plant Foods
How to Soak Nuts and Grains to Reduce Plant Anti-Nutrients
Developed by a former school teacher and holistic nutritionist, all of the materials in this course are meant to serve the main learning styles: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing.
All of the lessons are jam-packed full of simple activities that help cement the healthy gut lessons into the child's knowledge base. At the end of each lesson, there are Health Journal questions that help them think through what they just learned. Additionally, family activities listed at the end of each lesson can be done either in your kitchen or at the grocery store. This is truly a hands-on health course!
This 132-page course is meant to be an easy-to-use learning tool that can be spread out over several weeks. All of the activities are included in the main course material, but if you have multiple children then you may want to consider purchasing a separate activity book, particularly if you have older children that may want to do their own work.
