Nutrition Course:

Ancestral Living for Families

(6 Lessons)

Healthy living starts at home. Parents are their kids' biggest role models when it comes to making healthy food choices. In fact, WE are the ones that are responsible for buying our children's food! More than ever, we need to teach our children time-tested nutrition habits like those that ancestral cultures practiced. In this course, your child will learn:

  • How to Recognize the Three Macronutrients and Their Benefits to the Body
  • Why Micronutrients are Foundational for Optimal Health
  • The Importance of Choosing Whole Foods Over Packaged Foods
  • How to Properly Read a Nutrition Label
  • How Food Affects Their Brain, Hormones, Immune System, etc.
  • How to Properly Prepare Plant Foods Using Soaking, Sprouting, and/Fermentation Methods

All of the lessons are jam-packed full of simple activities that help cement the nutrition lessons into the child's knowledge base. At the end of each lesson, there are Health Journal questions that help them think through what they just learned. Additionally, family activities listed at the end of each lesson can be done either in your kitchen or at the grocery store. This is truly a hands-on nutrition course!

This 112-page course is meant to be an easy-to-use learning tool that can be spread out over several weeks. All of the activities are included in the main course material, but if you have multiple children then you may want to consider purchasing a separate activity book, particularly if you have older children that may want to do their own work.

What's Included in Each Lesson:

What an exceptionally robust and intentional nutritional curriculum for families! I was impressed with the quality, historical context, and detail of each lesson. The incredible interactive activities for children and families made the lessons even more real and applicable to every day life. As a former elementary teacher, I can see how young children and teenagers can learn and apply this information in helping them become more aware and mindful of their nutritional choices. I even learned something new from the protein lesson.
